SUMMER READING - 2021
Our students all need a break from the routine of the school year but they never need to take a break from reading. They actually need to be soaked until they are dripping wet in good books all summer long to make sure that they continue to grow as a reader and not slide backwards.
Your child's classroom teacher and I have worked really hard this past year with your child planting all the right seeds. These seeds have included teaching your child Fundations, teaching your child how to decode unknown words, teaching your child how to use comprehension strategies, and giving your child many opportunities to practice while being guided in the reading process. Will your make the commitment to make the conditions right everyday and help your reader to grow? We know what happens to a plant that we forget to water.
On this page are a variety of opportunities that can help keep your child growing as a reader all summer. If you know of others, please send me an email and I will add them so that everyone can benefit.
